The Municipality of Talamanca Celebrates the 42nd Anniversary of the Canton
You are invited to unique cultural event on Saturday, May 21, to commemorate the 42nd anniversary of the canton of Talamanca. The festivities will include a special feast during which 10 women from the community of African descent will prepare “The Southern Caribbean’s Largest Rice and Beans,” which will be prepared using 24 two-kilo bags of rice, 15 one-kilo bags of beans, 140 coconuts, 48 sticks of butter, sweet peppers, garlic cloves and thyme, 60 Panamanian peppers, and other tasty ingredients to create this traditional food!
Friday, May 20:
• 11:00 a.m.- formal ceremony
• 1:15 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. – College football and cultural activities on stage.
• 5:00 p.m.-6:45 p.m – Football friendly: Lemon FC vs. Southern Caribbean
• 7:30 p.m.-8:55 pm. – Concert with Gregory Cabrera
