KAREN BIBAS Art Exhibit at The Real Intercontinental

Review by Jackie Head Editor, PuraVidaGuide

Exhibit runs Oct 16th, 2015 – Nov 6th, 2015Karen Bibas Art Exhibit Costa Rica

As a lover of art but by no means an expert or critic, I am always keen to go and view works from the talented few and Karen Bibas, in my humble opinion, is worthy of such praise.

On arrival, I was greeted by the very charming Ricardo Menéndez who is the General Manager of the sumptuous Real Intercontinental in San Jose, Costa Rica, where I was guided towards quite a gathering of guests, all in support of Karen´s latest work, RETAZOS terapia para el alma…….beautifully translated to
“Pieces: therapy for the soul”

There are 14 Works of Art exhibited which depict the intention of Karen to reflect upon the theory that “time is one who restores our soul when it is broken”. She explains further that after recently losing her beloved Father her experience told her that “life goes on, I had my mourning and then had to take off my shirt ripped of pain to keep going with life”.

Please though, do not jump to the conclusion that the paintings are somewhat morbid, but quite the opposite, and I would certainly say they are leaning more towards a celebration of life. For example, one painting Karen walked me towards was of her parents, well actually you only see their lower half, so we will have to take her word for it! It is bright and beautiful with her Mum holding a a huge bouquet of flowers that are real to the touch and her Dad amusingly is wearing bright red, shiny shoes….well I just loved it and all I could do was smile as my imagination ran away with me of a young couple embarking upon their lives together.
