Key Largo Bar
Located right in the heart of the historic Barrio Amon district of San José, the Key Largo Bar is one of the original pickup bars for Costa Rica. Owned and operated by the same group who run the Hotel Del Rey and Blue Marlin Bar, the bar is in a meticulously restored downtown mansion just off Parque Morazán. With connection to the Del Rey, the Key Largo Bar is also one of San José’s top prostitute pickup bars. On any given night the women migrate freely between the Del Rey Hotel and the Key Largo.
If picking up prostitutes is not your thing, you can still enjoy live Latin music nightly as well as take in the beautiful colonial architecture and carved wood ceilings that the historic building adorns.
Although the bar is always frequented by prostitutes, it is still an acceptable place for visiting couples and for those not actively shopping for “company”.
Most nights, the party gets started every night at about 8pm with live music that keeps the rhythm and mood going for dozens of young Latina women. Key Largo has a few pool tables as well as a small dance floor to grind it up with all the working women.
Attached to the Key Largo is the Del Mar Restaurant which is open 24 hours. Key Largo Bar is open 8pm to 2:30am daily.
