Costa Rica vs USA World Cup 2014 Qualifier

Costa Rica vs USA World Cup 2014 QualifierEVENT: Costa Rica vs USA World Cup 2014 Qualifiers
WHEN: Friday September 6th, 2013
WHERE: Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica, La Sabana, San Jose
CAPACITY: 28,000 Tickets – SOLD OUT

Taking place this Friday 6th of September is the highly anticipated match Costa Rica v USA playing at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica in La Sabana, San Jose. This is a huge game, not only for Costa Rica who will be looking for revenge following their CONCACAF Gold Cup defeat 1-0 to the US plus the ‘snow game’ in the USA but also for the visitors who , if they win the three points will have secured their place to compete in the World Cup Brazil 2014.

Home team Costa Rica are currently 2nd place in their group CONCACAF (North, Central America and Caribbean) with 11 points, 2 points below USA and 3 points above 3rd place Mexico, so a win for Costa Rica is crucial at this time with only 4 games left to play in the Qualifying Stages.

USA are arguably the best team in their group and none are strangers to each other. Back in July 2013, each team present for the World Cup 2014 qualifiers (USA, Costa Rica, Mexico, Honduras and Panama with the exception of Jamaica) played each other in the Gold Cup. Costa Rica lost to Honduras 1 nil in the quarter-finals with USA winning to Panama in the finals 1 nil. So while a high scoring affair is not on the cards for this Fridays show down, a highly intense and competitive match between two rivals is!

Unfortunately for fans hoping to buy a ticket to go and watch the match, the Costa Rican Football Federation confirmed that all 28,000 tickets for the Costa Rica vs USA World Cup qualifying match sold out within 4 hours! So if you were one of the lucky few to buy a ticket, expect a packed out stadium with a great atmosphere, and if you were among the unlucky then check out our Bars and Pub section and find one in your area!

A few we recommend is Chichi’s, Henrys and TGI’s

May the best team win . . Costa Rica!

Pura Vida!
