2nd Annual Art Combat

Avenida Escazú, San José, Costa Rica – March 2015.2nd Annual Art Combat in Avenida Escazú

For second year in a row, Costa Rican artists will be able to showcase their work in an innovative way.

Art Combat is not only a cultural promotion platform, but it also sets the stage for family entertainment where we can all enjoy live painting competitions and shows accompanied by
happenings and concerts. A group of 4 artists will have 30 minutes to paint a blank canvas. A panel of judges with help of the audience then decides who classifies to the next round and eventually the grand final.

Annelise Scholl, founder of Art Combat affirms: “We believe in the necessity of preserving critical thinking, cultural initiatives and creative forces, greatly facilitated by the arts. In order to participate and support the continuum of our social and cultural sustainability, and thus the legacies of our own creativity, we believe that facilitating for a broad, visionary scale of artistic practices is the essential way towards a potentially more coherent future.”

“Art Combat seeks to build a model to promote positive culture and to lessen the gap between art and the public by offering an innovative space for artists to showcase their work”, added organizer Silvia Murillo of SM Marketing.

Organizer Nadja Holtz asserts: “We want to bring together art lovers, artists and public in general. This is a warm invitation for you and your family. We strongly encourage you to come with your kids since it will be a great learning experience for them!”

The events will take place in the main plaza of Avenida Escazú as part of their “Chilling Sunsets” during the following dates starting at 3:00 pm:

Saturday May 9th – Dj Julie + Sasha Campbell

Saturday May 16th – Dj Julie + Daniel Patiño

Saturday May 23rd – Dj Julie + Conciert with Tamela Hedstrom (Latin Grammy Nominee)
