Watch highlights from the Aloha Cup Surfing Final in Jacó, Costa Rica

Today, not only is the United States celebrating their Gold Medal win in the Aloha Cup finals in Jacó yesterday, but the entire Surfing Association, are rejoicing with the recent announcement that the sport will be included for the first time in the Olympics 2020, held by Japan.

ISA President, Fernando Aguerre, commenting on the action of yesterday´s final said, “what an amazing ISA Aloha Cup Final! Team USA has won the first Gold Medal of the 2016 INS ISA World Surfing Games and the first in the era of Olympic Surfing.  The energy on the beach was amazing while I watched on the webcast, just a dose of what we will experience tomorrow when the individual and Team Gold Medals are awarded.”

GOLD United States: 73.49

SILVER Argentina: 66.64

BRONZE Costa Rica: 60.81

COPPER New Zealand: 56.26
